Account information. When you create an account via Google Sign-In, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. We do not store your Google password.
Location data. tana! uses your device GPS to enable check-ins at spots and along routes. Location is accessed only when you actively use check-in features. We do not track your location continuously in the background.
Usage data. We collect anonymized data on which routes, spots, and collections you view and complete. This helps us improve the app and understand how people explore Bohol. No personally identifiable information is included in aggregate reports.
User-submitted content. If you use the Suggest a Spot feature, we collect the information you voluntarily submit. All suggestions are reviewed by our curation team before any action is taken.
Offline data. When you use the app in areas with limited connectivity, your location may be stored locally on your device and synced to our servers when your connection is restored.
Your data is stored on AWS RDS servers located in the Southeast Asia region (Singapore). We use JWT tokens for secure authentication and apply rate limiting to protect against unauthorized access. We do not store sensitive personal data beyond what is necessary to operate the app.
We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information, including protection against SQL injection and unauthorized requests.
tana! requests access to your device's GPS for check-in functionality. Location is used only at the moment of check-in and is not shared with third parties. In areas without signal, your last known location may be stored locally and synced once connectivity returns.
You can revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings. Doing so will disable check-in features but will not affect your ability to browse routes and collections.

If you submit a spot suggestion via the Suggest a Spot feature, you grant tana! a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use, review, and publish that content within the app if approved by our curation team. All submissions are moderated. We reserve the right to accept, reject, or modify any submission at our discretion.
You retain ownership of content you submit but confirm that it does not infringe on any third-party rights and is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
Check-in features rely on your device GPS. tana! is not responsible for inaccurate check-ins caused by GPS signal issues, device limitations, or environmental conditions. In remote areas, offline tracking may be used and synced when connectivity is restored.
